The Housing & Development Board (HDB) is Singapore's public housing authority and a statutory board under the Ministry of National Development. The main mission is to Providing Affordable, Quality Homes to the republic and Singaporean. HDB had develops public housing towns that gives it citizen with quality homes and complete living environments. Always active in research and development work to make sure that cost-effectiveness and quality standards are maintained and continually improved upon. It also Ensuring in creating a Vibrant Towns with consisting of various commercial, recreational and social facilities and amenities for the convenience of residents, one of its key priorities is to ensure that it meets changing needs and circumstances. Through renewal and upgrading programmes, HDB brings new features, facilities and improvements to its older estates and towns to ensure their vibrancy and continued relevance.Subletting of whole HDB flat,application for approval is required from HDB. For subletting of bedrooms, no approval from HDB is required. However, flat owners must register the subletting with HDB within 7 days from the commencement date of the subletting. The flat owners and their authorised occupiers must also continue to live in the flat during the subletting period and comply with the subletting conditions. Before renting a flat or a bedroom from the HDB flat owners, The prospective subtenants are advised to familiarise themselves with the eligibility conditions for subtenants as well as those for the flat owners. It is important that they first ensure that the flat owner has HDB's approval to sublet the flat to them. Non-Malaysian non-citizen subtenants are also advised to check if the NC Subletting Quota in the block and neighbourhood has reached the limit before entering into any subletting contract.You are advised to visit the flat that you intent to rent and ensure that the person you are dealing with is the rightful owner of the flat. You can do so by requesting for documentary proof of flat ownership such as the Agreement for Lease, Service & Conservancy charges booklet, Annual or Loan instalment payment booklet/ Annual Loan statements, where the name of the flat owner should be stated.The market practice is for rent to be paid on a monthly basis. The first payment should be made on the day the tenancy commences, while subsequent payments should be done on the same day of each subsequent month. The deposit amount is usually equal to one month's rent for a one-year tenancy contract, and two months' rent for a two-year tenancy contract. This is payable upon signing the tenancy agreement, together with the first month's advance rent. You are advised not to pay more than one month's rent. As proof of payment, you should pay the rental deposit and rents by cheque. You are also advised to move into the flat immediately after collecting the keys.hdbrental,hdbsale,hdbsale
