Gay and lesbians in Philippines Asked For Equal Right
MANILA, Philippines DEC 2011 — More than 1,000 gays, lesbians and transgenders or more have marched in the Philippine capital to demand equal rights and an end to discrimination,also support for an AIDS program.
They carried a very large rainbow flag during the yearly Pride parade ,they marching around Manila's Malate district , some even dancing around with drums and played music with song.Gays organization in the Philippines says they're pushing Congress to pass a law against discrimination that they say denies them jobs and social services.Even powerful political party, which supported gay rights, says they're also raising funds for HIV-AIDS prevention program. The Health Department mentioned they are 7000 over people have been infected with the virus HIV since 1984, including 900 more AIDS cases this year.
